Director Imtiaz Ali brings his two favorite actors- Ranbir Kapoor and Deepika Padukone in a beautiful tale of love- Tamasha.

Unfortunately not a majority of people are going to understand or identify with this love story. It sort of reminds you of the work that Farhan Akthar did in “Karthik Calling Karthik”.

Meet Ved who is a dreamer and story-teller but society’s pressures and his father’s traditional beliefs are confining his free spirit to live and behave in a certain way. It is as if he has to pay back his father for giving him a life and soon he gives in and becomes a robot.

Meet Tara who is happy, loving, cheerful and just alright in life until she meets “Don”. Ved and her and meet accidentally in Corsica (where Napoleon Bonaparte spent his last years) and they go on an imaginary trip created by Ved.

They promise never to meet again, but alas both have fallen in love with each other and we see Tara’s side of the love until after a few years she meets the real man- Ved.

Life is normal as a couple but she is looking for her Don and when Ved proposes Tara confesses and Ved’s real spirit comes out. To call it a demon is vicious because sometimes we all have the desire to be who we really are but are confined and when it fights to come out it comes out through a fight, rage, tears, physical harm or a scream.

Favorite scenes:

  • When Mona Darling goes back to kiss Don
  • Heer toh badi sad hai
  • Agar tum saath ho
  • Ved talking to his boss
  • Ved telling his family the story
  • Rumi’s quotes

How does it conclude, you must watch this brave journey of their love for each other, for themselves and their live.

Director Imtiaz Ali is a dreamer and creator and this is one of his best works ever. Music Director A R Rahman adds just the perfect touch to the soul of these souls.

Ranbir Kapoor and Deepika Padukone are brilliant and this will be one of their best works ever too.
