Sully from the Movie

In 2009 the world woke up to the shocking news of a miracle landing of US Airways Flight 1549 on the Hudson River where all the 155 passengers and crew survived. The city of New York had faced terror with the planes when the Twin Towers were struck, but here was their very own Captain Chesley “Sully” Sullenberger made a split second decision to land on the Hudson River.

Director Clint Eastwood is known to make iconic films like Million Dollar Baby, American Sniper and now Sully. He is not your average Director who says Action and Cut, according to actor Tom Hanks who is Captain Sully and therefore a very intimidating Director. He has delivered excellence and you need patience to witness it.

The film is about the post investigation that takes place to determine exactly how and why did Captain Sully think of landing on the Hudson River. In the cockpit witnessing the protocols and final decision is his co-pilot Jeff Skiles played by Aaron Eckhart.

Clint Eastwood takes you through the city of New York when Sully and Skiles are jogging and running through the event and investigation, the press hype around Sully but most importantly you spend time with the thoughts of this simple, humble and courageous man Sully.

A definite must watch and it may not garner enough Oscar run but it will be remembered as one of Tom Hanks’s best ever films.
